..actually its green but you know.. it sounds cool.. right?
I was feeling like it had been a while since I had taken my time to make some quality pixel art.. so this is an attempt to correct that. I hope you'll enjoy it. I don't usually go for these kinds of scenes but they're nice because you can really go nuts on details.. so.. I did
Hmm...255 colors, dare I guess that you actually didn't do this pixel for pixel, but rather drew over with an airbrush or so and then lowered the color count to be able to save as gif? (thusly devoiding this from being proper pixel art)
all the elements/objects were done pixel by pixel, I used the brush for large pools of blood, the colouring of the walls, and some parts of the rust just cos I was lazy after that I used a 1px pencil eraser and went over the different areas adding detail. I think it still qualifies as pixel art even though its a mix of different techniques.
It's a bit like, lets say you could make a painting with watercolors, but so it would look EXACTLY like an oil painting, would you call it an oil painting?
If you have to reduce the colors to be able to save it properly then you're stepping away from what pixel art truly is. Yes, I admit it, I am a purist and I might be preaching for deaf ears. Pixel art is made up of pixel brushes, lines and fills, not antialiased brushes drawn over, in part or in whole. This would constitute in my, and many other's, book as a mixed medium at best. But I wouldn't go as far as calling it pixel art.
I guess you're right in the sense that I did use an antialiased brush but on the other hand I did go over every single pixel in this piece which to me accounts for its pixelartness.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
